Assist the operations department with various business tasks.
Set short-term goals for the department and ensure they are achieved.
Develop and implement the company's standard operating procedures (SOP) for the transportation department, providing guidance and supervision during implementation.
Assist in the overall transportation planning for the company and oversee its execution.
Collaborate and communicate with suppliers and customers to design the most efficient transportation routes, achieving optimal cooperation.
Ensure that loading and delivery operations match the relevant company documents.
Understand the purchase costs and maintenance expenses of all transportation vehicles and equipment to manage transportation costs effectively.
Oversee each handover in the transportation process to ensure smooth and efficient delivery.
Plan the movement of transportation personnel or third-party transportation companies to ensure timely delivery and service to customers.
Coordinate and manage unexpected incidents during transportation, quickly devising solutions to ensure timely dispatch to customers.
Handle transportation insurance matters and manage claims with insurance companies in the event of accidents.
Provide guidance on all tasks within the transportation department.
Research and propose cost-effective and efficient transportation methods for the company.
Conduct regular safety audits on transportation vehicles and equipment.
Ensure the team complies with company policies and transportation regulations, such as proper handling of goods during loading/unloading and ensuring safety.
Ensure the team follows the latest traffic safety regulations.
Manage performance evaluations for transportation department personnel.
Train and develop department staff.
Ensure the safety of company assets within the transportation department.
Protect company confidential business information by preventing leaks by department personnel.
Coordinate and resolve issues with other departments.
Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or higher.
Required languages: Bahasa Malaysia, MANDARIN, English. Prefer Mandarin speaking candidates (SPEAK, READ and WRITE in MANDARIN) to liaise with Mandarin speaking colleagues & customers.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar warehouse management role, preferably in the FMCG or distribution industry.
Strong understanding of logistic management systems, inventory control, and distribution processes.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Proficient in analyzing data and using it to drive operational improvements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Experience in leading and motivating a team to achieve operational excellence.
Familiarity with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations in the industry.
Possess advanced reporting and computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and eager to learn new skills.
Multi-tasking, prioritization, and time management skills.
