Legal Manager (Regional)

About Our Client

Our client is a diversified group of companies in key sustainable industries with operations across different countries. In line with the growth of their business, they are building strong legal and governance leadership and resources to build up stronger infrastructure as they continuously scale up. They are now searching for a Legal Manager to join their regional legal team to oversee legal function across the different jurisdictions under purview.

Job Description

• Support Legal Department on corporate, operation and commercial legal matters.
• Advise in relation to laws and regulations affecting the Group and counsel in relation to major business initiatives and transactions.
• Prepare, review, negotiate and finalise all legal documentation including confidentiality agreement, MOU, LOI, lease agreement, JV agreement, insurance policy documents, EPC and O&M agreements, etc.
• Manage and oversee all non-claims litigation matters including the negotiations and settlement processes and working with external lawyers.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external parties such as the relevant authorities and bodies, ministry, service providers and other third parties.
• Provide support to HR in the company's human resource and industrial related matters.
• Manage other related duties and responsibilities which may be assigned from time to time.

The Successful Applicant

• Minimum of 5 years PQE either practising in a law firm or in-house counsel (preferably both) - Applicants with higher PQE are also encouraged to apply as banding will be designated based on overall level of experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Law from a reputable law school/university.
• Called to Malaysian Bar or equivalent.
• Knowledge in contract and commercial laws, contract drafting and negotiations.
• Proficiency in the Chinese language would be an advantage, but not compulsory.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good management, leadership, planning, decision making and strategic thinking.
