About the role

We are seeking a talented Legal Executive to join our dynamic team at Mitsubishi Electric Sales Malaysia Sdn Bhd. As a Legal Executive, you will play a crucial role in providing legal support and counsel to our organisation. This is a full-time position based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, where you will be responsible for advising on a wide range of corporate and commercial legal matters.

What you'll be doing

1. Legal Advice & Guidance: To assist and/or liaising with external counsel for the provision of legal counsel to the management on corporate governance, compliance, and other legal issues.
2. Contract Management: To assist in drafting, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents, ensuring that terms and conditions are clear and legally binding.
3. Compliance & Regulatory Matters: To ensure the company complies with all relevant laws and regulations in Malaysia for the implementation of group legal and compliance policies and procedures, and to support the company’s compliance programs.
4. Risk Management: Identify legal risks, offer solutions, and work closely with management to mitigate potential legal issues.
5. Litigation & Dispute Resolution: To assist the company in legal disputes, manage external counsel, and assist in resolving conflicts or potential lawsuits with the cooperation with external counsel.
6. Corporate Governance: To assist in the development and enforcement of internal policies and governance frameworks.
7. Legal Research & Development: Stay up to date with changes in Malaysian law, industry regulations, and global legal trends that could affect the business.
8. Legal Awareness: Conduct legal awareness for employees to ensure compliance and understanding of legal obligations.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in law or equivalent legal qualification
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a corporate or commercial legal role
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
• Strong research and analytical capabilities
• Proficiency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Familiarity with dispute resolution, arbitration, and mediation process will be an added advantage
• Demonstrable problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Passion for staying up-to-date with legal developments
