Responsibilities

• Draft and/or review legal documents/contracts related to the businesses of the Company, including agreements, correspondences and any other documents in relation to conveyancing, litigation, corporate and commercial transactions;
• Conduct legal research and keep abreast of new laws and regulations applicable to the Company and its businesses and advise the management on any potential legal issues/risks arising therefrom;
• Review, recommend and/or develop policies, procedures or guidelines for the Company and/or its respective business units to ensure compliance with the new laws and regulations;
• Liaise with external legal counsels/consultants;
• Act as the custodian of all legal documents and ensure proper filing of these legal documents;
• Provide prompt updates and reports as may be requested by the HOD/management;
• Ad-hoc assignments as may be assigned by the HOD/management.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Possessed a Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB). Those who are called to the Malaysian Bar shall have an advantage but not a pre-requisite.
• At least 3 years of working experience in the related field.
• Have a practicing certificate from the court and annual certificate (Bar Council).
• Preferably with experience in corporate (joint venture, share sale and shareholder agreements, acquisitions, due diligence) and commercial matters as well as legal compliance and dispute resolutions in related field.
• Good drafting skills and sound knowledge of commercial transactions.
• Preferably with experience in the property development/construction industry.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Analytical, meticulous and able to meet tight deadlines with a strong sense of responsibility and urgency.
• Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Able to communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
