LEGAL ASSOCIATE (CORPORATE)

Job Description:

  1. To assist the Partner in charge in providing advice on compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to banking and finance, corporate conveyancing, corporate finance advisory and debt capital market transactions;
  2. Advising on corporate governance practices and ethical standards;
  3. Assisting with the process, coordination and project management of transactions;
  4. Reviewing and developing reports and deliverables for transactions such as M&A transactions.

Requirements:

  1. At least three (3) years in practice;
  2. Good knowledge of basic banking and conveyancing transactions;
  3. Some experience in handling Islamic banking and finance works as well as corporate conveyancing matters such as Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) will be an advantage;
  4. Able to work independently with high degree of professionalism and integrity;
  5. Team player, with excellent interpersonal skills;
  6. Able to work with minimum supervision;
  7. Proven ability to efficiently manage work/projects;
  8. Good critical thinking skills;
  9. Strong time management, prioritization and organisational skills;
  10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

JUNIOR LEGAL SECRETARY (BANKING & CONVEYANCING)

Job Description:

  1. Provide assistance and support to Partners/lawyers;
  2. Carry out clerical/secretarial work for the department;
  3. Assist in managing project SPA, loan, sub-sale transactions, tenancy, lease, discharge of charge, deed of receipt & reassignment and perfection of transfer and charge files;
  4. Prepare all relevant documentation including RPGT forms and other conveyancing related documents/instruments;
  5. Assist lawyers to monitor and complete the SPA and loan transactions;
  6. Prepare status reports for project files;
  7. Liaise with clients for appointment and safekeeping arrangement;
  8. Ensure client files are updated and easily accessible;
  9. Other tasks as instructed from time to time;
  10. Training will be provided.

Requirements:

  1. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply;
  2. Working experience in a legal firm and familiarity with basic conveyancing practice and procedures will be an advantage;
  3. Good attitude and willingness to learn;
  4. Proficient in using all Microsoft Office tools;
  5. Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia – both oral and written;
  6. Good communication skills, punctual and disciplined.
