Provide legal advice on all aspects of processing, including origination, servicing.
Advise management and staff on legal risks and regulatory compliance.
Document Drafting and Review:
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents.
Ensure all documents comply with relevant laws and regulations.
Regulatory Compliance:
Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations applicable to the industry.
Keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations and advise the company on necessary adjustments.
Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with the company’s operations and transactions.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to manage legal risks.
Litigation and Dispute Resolution:
Manage and oversee litigation matters, including working with external counsel as needed.
Handle disputes and negotiate settlements on behalf of the company.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments, including Compliance, Risk Management, and Operations, to ensure legal considerations are integrated into business decisions.
Support strategic initiatives and projects from a legal perspective.
Qualifications:
Degree in Bachelor of Law (LLB)
Admitted to the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak
Minimum of 1-5 years of experience in a legal role, preferably within the financial industry.
Strong knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing loan processing.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
High ethical standards and professional integrity.
