Job description

POSITION: LECTURER (MUAMALAT) - STATUS: FULL TIME

Main Job Requirement: An earned Degree and Master in Muamalat or the related area with two (2) years of relevant experience in higher education.

POSITION: LECTURER (ISLAMIC FINANCE) - STATUS: FULL TIME

Main Job Requirement: An earned Degree and Master in Islamic Finance or the related area with two (2) years of relevant experience in higher education.

POSITION: LECTURER (ISLAMIC STUDIES IN FATWA) - STATUS: FULL TIME

Main Job Requirement:

  • An earned Degree and Master in Islamic Studies or the related area with two (2) years of relevant experience in higher education.
  • Minimum qualification of the academic staff teaching non-specialized courses such as language, entrepreneurship, and credited co-curricular courses.

Other Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of assessment and assurance of learning, especially related to MQA.
  • Familiarity with curriculum and programme development.
  • Candidates must be committed to effective teaching, professional and scholarly research, university and community service.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Requires the ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
  • Able to work independently and as a team player.
  • Can teach Islamic Economics is an added advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching: Academic staff are required to prepare and deliver lectures, conduct tutorials, and supervise practical classes (such as training supervision/postgraduate projects and industrial training/practical).
  • Administration: Involvement in administrative work at the department, cluster, or institution levels, including the preparation of documents such as budget proposals, reports, and strategic plans.
  • Involvement in other administrative functions such as marketing or promotional campaigns.
  • Contributing to cluster committees, organizing activities, and overseeing quality assurance of programmes and their continuous improvement.
  • Research: Members of academic staff are encouraged to engage in research activities, including preparation of research proposals, either individually or in groups.
  • Consultancy: Encouragement is given to academic staff to undertake consultancy work either on an individual or group basis.
  • Publication: Academic staff members are encouraged not only to undertake research studies but also to publish their findings in refereed journals.
