Learning & Development Lead (Travel & Tourism Academy)

We're seeking a Learning & Development Lead (Travel & Tourism Academy) to lead travel education and talent development, with a focus on building strategic partnerships in Malaysia. This role will be reporting to the General Manager.

Your Mission: Challenge Accepted? (If YES)

You'll lead the development of engaging and innovative programs through our Travel Academy, all while building meaningful connections with educational institutions in Malaysia.

Your role will be pivotal in making sure the travel industry has a pipeline of skilled, passionate professionals ready to embark on new adventures.

1. Curriculum Development & Management: Design engaging training programs that keep travel professionals at the top of their game.
2. Recruitment Strategy: Attract top talent, focusing on building strong connections with Malaysian universities and schools.
3. Build Partnerships: Collaborate with Malaysian educational institutions and other government agencies (e.g. HRDCorp, KESUMA, JPK, PERKESO, MIHRM etc) to create pathways for emerging travel leaders.
4. Culture & Strategy: Foster a culture of learning and growth while aligning recruitment efforts with the association’s goals.
5. Performance Measurement: Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, using key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure continuous improvement.
6. Digital Learning Integration: Leverage digital tools and e-learning platforms to enhance training accessibility and engagement.

What we are looking for?

1. Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as an L&D Manager or similar role.
3. Experience: 7+ years in learning & development, or education, ideally within the travel or hospitality sectors. Experience working with the Malaysian education system & recruitment is a major plus!
4. Passion: A genuine love for travel, education, and professional development.
5. Networking Skills: Strong relationships within Malaysia’s educational landscape, including universities, travel-focused programs, and vocational schools.
6. Leadership: A proven ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and excitement.
7. Visionary Thinking: You’re a strategic thinker who can balance the big picture with the day-to-day work, ensuring the association continues to grow and evolve.
8. Communication Skills: Fluent in English, with knowledge of Malay being a plus. You’re an exceptional communicator, able to engage with diverse audiences.
