Job Description:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of predictive models for Upstream and Downstream business segments.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify key business challenges that can be addressed through data science solutions.

• Mentor junior data scientists, ensuring the development of a skilled team capable of handling future challenges.

• Independently manage data science projects from conceptualization to execution, including data preparation, model building, and post-implementation reviews.

• Ensure the scalability and robustness of machine learning models, integrating them seamlessly into the company’s decision-making processes.

• Advise the team on new software/technology that should be utilized within the function for an overall increase in effectiveness.

• Work closely with the BI and analytics teams to ensure data alignment and integration across operations.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or similar quantitative disciplines. Master’s/PhD in the disciplines above is desirable.

• 5+ years related experience building advanced analytical and machine learning models in predictive/prescriptive analytics.

• Experience writing clean and maintainable code using Python, R and related packages, or similar data programming languages.

• Machine Learning with R, Python or similar certification is desirable.

• Microsoft Azure or AWS Certified Data Scientist/ML engineer will stand out.

• Strong know-how of software engineering concepts and experience with Agile development practices.

• Managed/trained junior team members on data science projects.

• Combination of a big company and a startup experience a plus.
