About the Job

Ensure Financial results (e.g. NBEV/ EV/ profit arising) are analyzed and work with relevant stakeholders on initiatives to optimize the Financial Results. This role also oversees the setting of the company’s budget, balance sheet management, and oversight in managing the implementation of company-wide strategic initiatives.

The Job

  • Review the reporting and analysis of Embedded Value and New Business Embedded Value.
  • Review analysis of profit arising and share the findings with key stakeholders.
  • Review business planning and forecast analysis of company’s KPIs and provide timely updates to key stakeholders on the outcome, including strategies/ plans on how to close the gaps.
  • Work closely with stakeholders from various departments, e.g. Strategy, Actuarial, Investment, etc., in identifying and implementing strategies that optimize company’s KPIs.
  • Provide oversight on the review of the expenditure approval form for both local and regional projects, ensuring compliance to PEAP and appropriate allocation basis/ratio is applied.
  • Review the annual exercise on the optimization of Strategic and Tactical Asset Allocation (SAA/TAA) and Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) with the support from Actuarial, Investment, and Finance Department.
  • Review the initiatives in optimizing the balance sheet position in terms of optimizing the duration matching between Asset & Liability, earnings volatility, reinsurance, capital, and free surplus management.
  • Provide oversight on the implementation of various company-wide strategic initiatives as well as Finance internal initiatives.
  • Assist Chief Financial Officer in any other assignments as and when required.

Our Requirements

  • Tertiary - Bachelor in Statistics/ Mathematic/ Actuarial Studies / Finance & Accounting.
  • Passed almost all exams to attain professional certification in either the actuarial or finance associations recognized by BNM.
  • More than 10 years of working experience.
  • Knowledge on: (i) Own job discipline (Specialized); (ii) Related job disciplines (Intermediate).
  • Possess the key competencies of developing people, decision making, exploring possibilities, and business planning.
  • Has experience in Financial Modelling, Valuation Approaches and Methodologies, Valuation Conclusion and Reporting, Scenario Planning, and Analysis.
  • High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
  • Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
