The job holder is the primary focus for the optimization of the Production and Distribution interface activities for the Liquid / Bulk Business. This includes ensuring that the functionality of the Logistics / Scheduling tools is fully utilized and exploited and that the utilization of the physical distribution resource is optimized.

In addition to optimization of the existing system the job holder must constantly focus on continuous improvement and identify all opportunities for increased productivity, reduced cost, improved service levels. Once identified these must be formally proposed and reviewed with the appropriate management teams and driven to a conclusion. A key challenge for the job holder is to ensure that whilst holding Safety as a fundamental necessity the correct balance between Customer Service requirements and Supply Chain optimization is maintained. One requirement must not be achieved at the detriment of the other.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Be accountable for the effective implementation and management of all aspects of the LB Logistics system application and maintenance for the region.
  • Act as a Center of Excellence in respect of the daily system maintenance for LB Shell / SAP Interface and Liquid / Bulk PDT's, introducing new functionality and ensuring the end user has the capability to use the system.
  • Ensure that effective, efficient work practices and processes are developed, implemented, and maintained such that the team meets or surpasses all targets and KPI’s.
  • Work in conjunction with Global Operations and Supply Chain Management to develop and implement Strategic and Tactical Product Production and Fleet Utilization Plans that allow for optimization of both our production and distribution resources, ensuring the lowest overall operational cost and effective system utilization.
  • Ensure the continuing optimization of the Distribution Supply Chains for each business area by focusing the team on the full and effective usage of our Global Scheduling Tools allied to individual Business Area requirements.
  • Be part of the global logistics effort of driving distribution productivity through logistics CI events, discreet logistics projects and supply chain optimization techniques.
  • Maintain, input, and ensure accuracy of Liquid Bulk Shell data, updating accordingly whenever changes happen and are necessary.
  • Investigate and follow up on complaints related to LB Delivery.
  • Be available for After Hour, Weekend, and Holiday support.
  • Develop and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley legal regulations in terms of appropriate segregation of duties and adherence to documentation and testing standards.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

  • Ideally, candidates would have a recognized specialized qualification in some area of Logistics or Supply Chain Management and a Degree in Engineering or Mathematics.
  • Work experience in logistics or distribution-related activities is preferred.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Must have experience of managing staff in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ideally would have experience of customer service and physical distribution management.
  • Must be a self-motivator who has a proven track record in leadership and team building.
  • Must be an excellent communicator who is comfortable in dealing with both internal and external contacts at all levels.
