About the role

We are seeking a talented Lawyer / Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team at CHAN CHUAH AND SU ADVOCATES based in Kuching, Sarawak. As a full-time position, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive legal services to our diverse client base, contributing to the firm's continued growth and success.

What you'll be doing

1. Conduct legal research and analysis to support the preparation of legal documents, contracts, and other instruments.
2. Assist in the drafting and reviewing of a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and other legal correspondence.
3. Provide support in the preparation and filing of legal documents with relevant authorities.
4. Collaborate with the legal team to ensure efficient and effective client service.
5. Stay up-to-date with changes in relevant laws and regulations to provide accurate and timely advice to clients.
6. Participate in client meetings and maintain open communication with clients to understand their legal needs.
7. Contribute to the firm's knowledge-sharing initiatives and professional development programs.

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Law, CLP or equivalent legal qualification.
2. Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in a law firm or legal department.
3. Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
5. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
6. Keen attention to detail and a dedication to delivering high-quality work.
7. Familiarity with legal software and technology tools.
8. A proactive and problem-solving mindset.
