In the Construction sector, our business activities cover the full spectrum of project types ranging from infrastructural development to buildings, from institutional facilities to manufacturing plants. We service our direct customers – concrete producers, contractors and distributors – and stay close to them through our central sales & marketing office in Petaling Jaya and a network of sales offices in Penang, Johor Bahru, Kuantan, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu. Meanwhile, Sika leads the field in total bonding, sealing, damping, reinforcing and protection solutions for bus, truck and rail vehicle manufacturing, and for the assembly of appliances, industrial equipment and building components.
Sika Kimia Sdn Bhd currently employs more than 340 people in Sales & Marketing, Technical Service, Finance, HR & Administration, Laboratory, Production, Purchasing, Customer Service and Warehouse.
Job Description- To ensure the quality of product release is complying to QC Specification and to provide assistance to Senior Laboratory Assistant / QC Chemist / QC Manager as needed.
- Conduct testing for each product according to QC specification before released to customer.
- Conduct testing of raw materials according to test method and QC specification.
- To record and update all QC data, test results accurately and report findings to immediate superior.
- To prepare samples for Sales & Marketing Department when necessary.
- Maintain good housekeeping and 5S practices in the laboratory.
- Ensuring that all safety guidelines are adhered to at all times within the laboratory and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain all equipment and tools in proper working order and maintain a clean work area.
- Ensure QC complies with ISO 9001 and ISO 45001.
- To perform other job functions deemed necessary by immediate superior / management.
Qualifications- Min. High school certificate / SPM plus relevant laboratory experience.
- Experience in Laboratory at least 1 year, experience in same industry will be an advantage. Fresh graduates encouraged to apply.
- Laboratory testing skill. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work in shifts.
- Able to work independently and efficiently under minimum supervision.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work such as moving and lifting equipment, standing for long periods of time, etc.
- Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Positive attitude and always seek for better improvement.
