We are currently seeking to hire one KSSM English teacher to join us on 12 February 2024 to teach KSSM English to Secondary students in our National School.
Purpose of Role
To provide Amazing Learning opportunities so that students continually get better through the delivery of high-quality teaching and the creation of effective resources.
Key Responsibilities
General
- Follow the policies and practices which reflect the school’s commitment to high achievement, amazing learning and effective feedback.
- Establish a clear understanding of the importance and role of the subject in contributing to students’ spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development, and in preparing students for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of the modern world.
- Use data effectively to identify students who are underachieving in the subject and, where necessary, create and implement effective plans of action to support those students.
- Work effectively as a Homeroom Teacher to an assigned class.
- Ensure curriculum coverage, continuity and progression in the subject for all students, including those of high ability and those with special educational or linguistic needs.
- Ensure effective development of students’ literacy, numeracy and information technology skills through the subject.
- Set high expectations for students in relation to progress and achievement.
- Ensure effective development of students’ individual and collaborative study skills necessary for them to become increasingly independent in their work and to complete tasks independently when out of school.
- Establish a partnership with parents and carers to involve them in their child’s learning of the subject, as well as providing information about curriculum, attainment, progress and targets.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Possess relevant a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with relevant specialisation or a Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field with a Postgraduate Diploma/Degree in Teaching/Education.
- Candidate who is currently teaching KSSM English with minimum two (2) years of full-time teaching experience is preferred.
- Candidate who is able to teach another subject like Literature in English or any other relevant subject is encouraged to apply.
- Computer literate with good interpersonal communication skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
