Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with key stakeholders in government agencies and GLCs, including decision-makers, influencers, and end-users.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring consistent and effective communication.
  • Develop and execute tailored account management plans for each government/GLC client, identifying their specific needs, goals, and challenges.
  • Conduct regular account reviews to track progress, identify opportunities, and resolve issues.
  • Drive revenue growth through upselling, cross-selling, and identifying new opportunities within the assigned portfolio.
  • Prepare and deliver proposals, presentations, and bids tailored to the needs of government/GLC clients.
  • Negotiate contracts, ensuring terms are favorable and compliant with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., product, marketing, legal, finance) to deliver exceptional service and solutions tailored to government/GLC requirements.
  • Attend government and GLC events, trade shows, and meetings to network and stay updated on trends and opportunities.
  • Stay informed about government initiatives, budgets, and policies, as well as GLC strategies and operational plans.
  • Monitor competitors' activities and identify areas where the company can gain a competitive advantage.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all account activities, opportunities, and interactions.
  • Provide regular reports on account performance, revenue, and KPIs to senior management.

National Sales

  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
  • Present, promote, and sell products/services to prospective clients.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets on a regular basis.
  • Provide regular reports on sales activities and results.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market activities, and competitors.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of government and GLC operations, procurement processes, and regulations.
  • Proven experience in key account management, sales, or business development, preferably in dealing with government and GLC clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and account management software.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public relations, or a related field (advanced degrees or certifications are a plus).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in sales, preferably in any industry or sector.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
