Company Profile
Astute Fund Management Berhad ("Astute") was formerly known as Apex Investment Services Berhad. It was established in 1997 and has provided fund management services to investors for over 25 years. Astute is a licensed unit trust management company and asset management company. It is also an Institutional Unit Trust Adviser (IUTA) which allows the Company to distribute and deal in third-party unit trust funds.
Astute actively invests in the Malaysia and Asian stock markets. In addition, the Company has significant fixed income and money market investments. Astute is regulated by Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia (FiMM).
The Company manages 8 equity unit trust funds. These funds are Astute Malaysia Growth Trust, Astute Quantum Fund, Astute Dynamic Fund, Astute Dana Al Sofi - 1, Astute Dana Aslah, Astute Asian (Ex Japan) Fund and Astute Maximiser Dividend Fund. It manages 1 money fund, namely Astute Dana Al-Kanz.
Responsibilities
- To ensure smooth daily operation and able to handle all Unit Trust Operations job functions, such as client submission, redemption, switching, payment settlement, check transaction payment in order to ensure the transactions are processed timely, correctly and comply with both Internal and External policies, dealing with an agent, as well as prepare all reports within required deadlines;
- To prepare, monitor and provide instruction for private mandate clients and new unit trust funds on-boarding, including KYC and new fund setup;
- Manage client instructions promptly and in accordance within the agreed mandate and set deadlines. Ensure accuracy of unit trust fund and private mandate portfolio valuations and performance management;
- Manage and monitor transaction processing encompass TRADE, CA, FOF, FX, CASH transactions and other relevant transactions to ensure timely and accurate execution instructions are transmitted to the trustees, custodian, counterpart for payments/settlements;
- Prepare, coordinate and submit Fund reporting, Private mandate client investment reports, fund performance and other regulatory reports to ensure compliance with relevant regulations;
- To provide excellent customer service in response to email, telephone, and written inquiries from internal and external clients;
- Organize and handle the daily schedule and ad-hoc projects of the department or as instructed by the HOD/management.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in Unit Trust/Fund Management Operations.
- Good knowledge in investment and reporting system (Bloomberg, portfolio management system).
- Organized, meticulous, result-oriented, self-starter and able to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Good command in written and spoken English.
- Good communication and interpersonal skill, able to interact with people of all levels.
- Adaptable to fast-paced and result oriented environment.
