Junior Data Scientist

Responsibilities.

1. Applying statistical and machine learning techniques, performing data analysis and visualization, building predictive models, and assisting in data-driven decision-making to support business objectives.
2. Writing modular, well-tested, and maintainable code.
3. Manipulating large volumes of data pre-processing that involves data transformation and data cleaning.
4. Researching, measuring, and analysing what works and what doesn’t.
5. Exploring new technologies and analytics solutions, and using depths of knowledge in statistics and various machine learning tools to forecast and classify patterns in the data.
6. Increasing performance and accuracy of machine learning algorithms through fine-tuning and further performance optimisation.
7. Liaising and working closely with team and clients to clearly define and establish the requirements for each task.
8. Working closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging data to propose solutions for effective decision making.
9. Code Languages: Python.

Minimum Requirements.

1. At least 1 year of experience as a Data Engineer or Data Analyst.
2. 1 year of experience in Python. Knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, and other ML tools will be of added value.
3. Experienced in Shell Script, Linux Configuration, MySQL, and NoSQL. Knowledge of AWS S3, FTP, and Microsoft SQL will be of added value.
4. Strong math skills in statistics, algebra, regression, etc.
5. Able to work under minimal supervision.
6. Strong organisational and project management skills.
7. Collaborative team player.
8. Passionate and possesses good problem-solving skills.
9. Good verbal communication skills.
10. Good attention to detail to ensure data quality and integrity is upheld.
11. Initiative to share knowledge, experience, and ideas at work.
