About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Junior Civil Engineer to join our growing team at Sandakan Roofing Sdn Bhd. In this full-time position, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the design, planning, and implementation of civil engineering projects within our organisation. Based in the vibrant city of Sandakan, Sabah, you will play a crucial role in supporting our company's commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions.

What you'll be doing

1. Assisting in the preparation of design drawings, specifications, and technical documents for civil engineering projects
2. Conducting site inspections, monitoring construction progress, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards
3. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and solve engineering challenges
4. Performing structural analysis and design calculations for various civil engineering components
5. Providing technical support and advice to project managers and other stakeholders
6. Participating in the development and implementation of quality assurance and control procedures
7. Staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in civil engineering

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
2. 1-3 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, preferably in the construction or infrastructure industry
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively
4. Proficient in the use of engineering software, such as AutoCAD, structural design tools, and BIM applications
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
6. Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards
7. Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism
