Junior Application Engineer

About the role

Inter-City MPC (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a driven and talented Junior Application Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this full-time, office-based role in Bukit Jelutong, Selangor, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining cutting-edge software applications that support our business operations.

What you'll be doing

• Design, develop, and implement software applications to meet business requirements. Able to understand customer business rules and translate into printable output and/or digital output.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using industry-standard practices. Refers to the latest workflow/SOP to ensure zero error.
• Resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks.
• Ensure the security and integrity of all systems and data (Financial Services Institutions data).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical solutions.
• Assist in the testing, deployment, and maintenance of software applications.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our systems.
• Liaise with users to understand business needs and system requirements. Responsible for generating/maintaining appropriate technical documentation.
• Supervise and assist the team of ICM IT Operation relating to performing data processing and respective programming activities.

What we're looking for

• At least a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in software development, preferably in an application engineering role (not web applications) - Fresh Graduates with internship experience are welcome to apply.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C#/.Net/Delphi, Node.js.
• Efficient coding techniques; preparing thorough test data; program debugging and documentation concepts; online programming and object-oriented programming techniques.
• Familiarity with software development methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively.
• Keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Focus and able to prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Able to work in Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam within short notice.
