Job description

You will deliver high-quality services in the area of treasury, accounting, payroll, tax liaison, and audit liaison matters for our international client base. The Junior Advisor - Accounting & Payroll ensures the integrity of accounting portfolios of clients by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. You will be based in the KL office and correspond with team members on a daily basis, delivering excellent accounting services while keeping up with current accounting policies and general practices. This position is in the Finance Division, and you will be reporting to the Head of Accounting & Payroll.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Primarily in charge of accounting services such as bookkeeping, payroll, and treasury services for clients.
  • Preparation and recording of assets, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Maintenance and balancing subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintaining general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
  • Summarizing financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
  • Producing and processing client payroll computations, while maintaining checks and balances, with utilization of software.
  • Advising on tax implications of accounting treatments and assisting in general tax activities of clients, including the payroll statutory payments.
  • Filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligations for clients.
  • Experience with accounting and financial software such as XERO and staying up-to-date with current accounting trends.

Job Requirements:

  • Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, or Professional Certificate in Finance, Accountancy, Banking, or a related field.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • A basic understanding of financial reporting, accounting, consulting, payroll, and tax is required.
  • Prior experience with accounting practices in a company is an advantage.
  • Knowledge in General/Cost Accounting, Tax Accounting, and Payroll Processing is preferred.
  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is essential.
  • Experience with XERO cloud accounting software is a plus.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively.
  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality in all tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
