Job Opportunity – Offshore Temporary Medic
About the Job:
- Manage offshore clinic in a professional manner, always ready to treat patients, dispense medicine, and handle emergency cases.
- Maintain sufficient equipment and drug levels at all times and manage controlled drugs according to the requirements of the Ministry of Health.
- Manage infectious disease protocols in accordance with Company or Ministry of Health guidelines.
- Manage ‘medivac’ and ‘casevac’ cases smoothly and communicate with onshore doctor if required.
- Perform administrative support and clerical work for the platform.
- Manage personnel on board (POB) register and keep correct count of personnel in the field at all times.
- Manage hygiene requirements of offshore installations and perform regular hygiene audits.
- Prepare reports and collect/compile data when required.
- Participate in all safety program training conducted on the platform.
Requirements:
Qualification:
The person shall possess the following:
- Formal certification in ‘Medical Assistance’ (minimum certificate or diploma) or equivalent qualification recognized by the government of Malaysia.
- Valid Offshore Safety Passport and Medical approved by PETRONAS Approved Medical Examiner (AME).
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a medic at an offshore platform.
- Experience in handling injuries and emergency treatments at a hospital prior to offshore work.
- Experience in operating various radios, telex, and fax machines at an offshore installation, with preference for those with a ‘radio operation’ related qualification or formal training.
- Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) or helicopter landing team member experience.
Apply good knowledge in the medical field.
Must be well-versed in the following:
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), preferably trained in ‘Advanced Life Support’.
- Administrative support and clerical work in a clinic.
- Hygiene requirements of offshore installations and involvement in regular hygiene audits/inspections.
Must be familiar with:
- Screening of drug addicts and containment of infections/contagious diseases offshore.
- Disease prevention programs and occupational health and hygiene.
- Dispensation/control of drugs and management/upkeeping of the platform's clinic.
- Offshore safety and environment management systems, preferably with NIOSH Safety Officer Certificate or equivalent.
- Screening and containment of infectious/contagious diseases.
Able to demonstrate personal drive, initiative, and self-motivation combined with the right results for the team.
Able to perform work with a high degree of initiative and under pressure.
