Java Lead

The Role:

The incumbent is responsible for assisting the IT head or team in the facilitation, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of each marketing project for the business need while remaining aligned with the strategy, commitments, and goals of the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

• Leading & managing a team of Java Developers on executing the projects involved.
• Maintain high quality of products with participation in code review and design reviews.
• Build high quality product and contribute important impacts on our product roadmap planning.
• Propose and implement solutions/products with Java, JavaScript, SQL, Spring, Python, and Shell Scripts.
• Provide guidance to Junior developers and suggestions to other colleagues with deep understanding of technology stacks.
• Propose better software architecture with right design patterns in suitable situations.
• Provide in-depth support to Technical Support Analysts.
• Work with front-end team to build a high performing, user-friendly, and stable web product.
• Solve puzzles from client feedback and logs to find out the real cause.
• Research on up-to-date technology stacks to continue bringing better performance and higher quality products to stakeholders.
• Write documentation for different technologies and knowledge to share among everyone.
• Provide insight for database performance and stability.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma / Bachelor's Degree / Professional Certificates in Computer Science / Information Technology / Software Engineering, etc.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in full stack web development.
• Familiar with Java, JavaScript, SQL, and Shell Scripts.
• Good understanding of and practical experience with Java web-based application development.
• Strong Java skills, object-oriented design experience, and knowledge of design patterns.
• Experience in using Spring & Hibernate in programming work is highly preferred.
• Familiar with Unix/Linux environment.
• Familiar with different source control tools.
• Good knowledge of microservices is an added advantage.
• Experience in database performance tuning and query enhancement is an added advantage.
• Experience in dev-ops relevant tasks is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of billing/charging interface/API is an added advantage.
• Ability to work with customers and identify adoption barriers and put forth plans to address these issues.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Willing to go the extra mile to get the job done to a high standard.
• Experience in leading & managing a team of Developers / Programmers is a must.
• Language(s): English, Malay & Mandarin as the role requires the candidate to deal with Mandarin speaking clients.
