Job description

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support business operations by improving or performing systems configurations or by developing new features of Java applications.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications by monitoring, analyzing, and reporting root causes of system/production disruptions, including recommendations to prevent the reoccurrence of glitches, defects, and bugs.
  • Help maintain/improve code quality as well as automation, especially in the testing area.
  • Analyze current technology trends within IT lines and look for opportunities to design new technology solutions that maximize productivity and improve business operations.
  • Enrich procedures and documentation of deliverables. Keep documentation and processes around production support and the development cycle up to date and efficient.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in information technology and/or other demonstrated learning paths (e.g., Bootcamp) are accepted.
  • Certification in ITIL is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Java Developer or in a similar role.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
  • Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring or Hibernate.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases like Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with version control tools, preferably Git but can be RTC.
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Knowledge of JUnit.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team and with business stakeholders.

Additional Criteria:

  • Good understanding of development processes associated (testing, code quality, design).
  • Experience as a technical leader in a project for senior candidates.
  • Experience in supporting production for business users is an additional advantage.
  • Work experience in finance, banking, or the insurance industry is preferred but not required.
