IT Security Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Security Engineer to safeguard our infrastructure and data. You will implement, monitor, and maintain security systems to protect against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.

This Malaysia-based company operates an online payment gateway that supports credit/debit cards, FPX payments, and e-wallets. It is registered with Bank Negara Malaysia and recognized as a Payment Facilitator for the Asia Pacific region. Description

Design, implement, and maintain security architecture for networks, servers, storage, and cloud environments.

Apply best practices to protect infrastructure and sensitive data.

Develop and deploy threat detection systems and conduct proactive threat hunting.

Respond to security incidents and provide post-event analysis.

Continuously monitor security systems for threats and vulnerabilities.

Take immediate action to mitigate risks.

1. Define and enforce security policies and compliance standards (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).

Ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational requirements.

Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.

Collaborate with teams on risk mitigation through patch management and system hardening.

Implement and test disaster recovery plans and backup strategies.

Ensure continuity in case of an attack or system failure.

Work with IT teams to integrate security practices across operations.

Manage third-party security vendors and monitor SLAs.

Maintain up-to-date security documentation, incident response protocols, and audit records.

Provide security reports to senior management.

Stay updated on emerging security threats and technologies.

Conduct security awareness training for staff.

Profile

1. Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
2. 3-5 years in IT security, cybersecurity, or network security.
3. Experience securing networks, servers, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
4. Familiarity with firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and SIEM solutions.
5. Knowledge of threat vectors (zero-day exploits, DDoS, social engineering).
6. Experience in security audits, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing.
