IT Repair Technician

Job Overview

The Repair IT Technician works under the purview of the Repair Team Lead/ Repair Senior Technician. This includes problem solving and methodology to resolve matters that arise during their course of work and is responsible to ensure quality standards are met. The Repair IT Technician will have key involvement in the execution of continuous improvement projects that lead to better resource management, productivity, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform IT equipment repair (General repair work, Motherboards, Power Supply, LCDs, etc.)
2. Ensures Service Level Turnaround time is met for IT equipment orders.
3. It is the first point of call for troubleshooting and problem resolution activities.
4. Checks administrative work accuracy – Feasibility Report compilation and submission.
5. Ensures all SOIs and SOPs are adhered to.
6. Ensures repair quality meets QC guidelines/processes/standards.
7. Performs IPC (in process checks) on repair work.
8. Ensures the team account for all equipment and parts requested and returns to the WH for storage is prompt.
9. Works with the relevant departments to implement the usage of tools to enhance work processes and is responsible for the maintenance and care of these assets.
10. Liaises and represents the department where collaboration is required between departments, suppliers, and clients.
11. Ensures that health and safety guidelines are followed.
12. Ensures upkeep, cleanliness, and organization of the work floor (5S).
13. Provides feedback to and on the work performance of the team to the Repair Team Lead and the Production/Assistant Production Manager.

Customer Service

1. Follows up to ensure timely and appropriate actions are taken on customers' requests and responds to all complaints and queries received.
2. Maintains and develops inter-departmental relationships.
3. Performs service recovery for customer-related issues.

Qualifications

1. Min: Diploma in IT/Computer Science
2. CompTIA A+ Certification

Experience

1. Graduates in the IT Hardware field. PC/Network/Server support and management experience is needed.
2. Well versed in IT Hardware troubleshooting and knowledge with a system builder or related industry will be an added advantage.
3. E&E certification/IT hardware repair experience.
