Purpose Statement: The IT Project Manager I is responsible for maximizing the value returned from small to medium sized projects. This position focuses on gathering the correct resources to accomplish the project by the targeted deadline while resolving conflicts and balancing available skill sets between projects that may be competing for like and limited resources.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- PROJECT STATUS: Keeps stakeholders informed of project progress, changes, and status in a timely manner. Focuses on factual updates and meeting deadlines for reporting.
- GLOBAL COLLABORATION: Collaborates with team members across geographical boundaries to understand their workload and potential challenges. Identifies and communicates any resource conflicts or roadblocks to key stakeholders and IT leadership. Monitors individual progress and provides guidance to ensure tasks are completed on time and within budget.
- PROJECT LIFE CYCLE: Follows established PMO templates and processes to manage assigned projects. Creates and maintains basic project plans with tasks, milestones, and resource allocation. Tracks project progress against the plan and identifies potential deviations. Provides guidance and support to business analysts and project team members to enhance their knowledge, skills, and overall effectiveness in their roles.
- LEAN CULTURE: Identifies opportunities for improvement within assigned IT processes. Participates in and supports ongoing lean initiatives led by senior colleagues. Contributes to a culture of waste elimination by following lean principles in daily tasks.

IT Project Manager
Basic Job Functions: Provides leadership to all aspects of global/regional IT projects, including project resource management, communications, change management, and performance leadership. Encompasses business process improvements as well as IT project management services for Plexus’s business systems and IT infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully leading medium/large IT projects, from initiation to closure, while ensuring alignment with business objectives, budgetary constraints, and timelines.
Job description includes:
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Define project objectives, requirements, and deliverables in collaboration with global stakeholders, including IT teams, business units, and external vendors.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, risk management, and quality assurance strategies.
- Coordinate cross-functional and cross-regional project teams, providing guidance, support, and leadership to ensure efficient collaboration and communication.
- Occasionally conduct or join meetings during off business hours with project/IT team members from other regions.
- Manage project budgets, tracking expenses, forecasting costs, and making adjustments as needed to ensure financial objectives are met.
- Monitor project progress, identifying and addressing issues, risks, and dependencies in a proactive and timely manner.
- Communicate project status, updates, and key milestones to stakeholders, including senior management, to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging lessons learned and best practices to optimize project processes and outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, policies related to IT application systems / IT infrastructure and IT project management.
Required Skills/Competencies:
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
- PMI Project Management certification a plus.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues and tasks simultaneously, whether working independently or with other people.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate status effectively in English to all stakeholders.
- A strong team player.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field.
- 2-3 years working experience as a Project Manager or equivalent roles.
