Job description

We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Manager to oversee the daily operations and optimization of our company’s IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have expertise in ERP systems (specifically Business Central), system setup, user access management, and a comprehensive understanding of server security, backups, hardware, software, and operating systems. Additionally, the IT Manager will play a key role in coordinating IT installations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and ensuring that all activities comply with legal and regulatory standards. The IT Manager will also stay updated with the latest technology advancements and industry best practices to continuously improve IT operations.

Job Descriptions:

  1. ERP Business Central Management and Smart Project:
    1. Oversee the configuration, customization, and ongoing support of ERP Business Central to meet the company's operational needs.
    2. Manage system setup, user roles, permissions, and access rights to ensure proper functionality and security.
    3. Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for ERP users, ensuring system uptime and user productivity.
    4. Coordinate with ERP vendor for related IT technical on ERP licensing, system set up, training manuals, and providing user supports and trainings for the ERP implementation and day-to-day operations.
  2. Internet Access and Leased Line Management:
    1. Manage overall company internet access, ensuring stable and high-performance connectivity for all users.
    2. Oversee leased line and VPN connections, ensuring secure and reliable remote access for employees.
    3. Monitor, configure, and maintain SSLVPN systems to support secure access for remote workers.
  3. Email Systems Management and Backup:
    1. Oversee the management of the company's email systems, ensuring smooth and seamless operation, security, uptime and reliable backup processes.
    2. Implement email backup strategies to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery capabilities.
    3. Administer and maintain email filtering, security protocols, and anti-spam solutions.
  4. Firewall and Security Systems:
    1. Configure, manage, and monitor the company’s firewalls to safeguard network resources and maintain optimal security.
    2. Regularly review and update security policies to protect against emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
    3. Provide ongoing support for network security, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and endpoint security.
  5. Daily IT Operations, Collaboration and Support:
    1. Supervise daily IT operations to ensure all hardware, software, servers, and operating systems are functioning efficiently and securely.
    2. Monitor and maintain server security, backups, and other critical systems to prevent disruptions in business operations.
    3. Coordinate with other departments to resolve IT issues and ensure systems are performing optimally.
    4. Coordinate all IT-related installations, upgrades, and maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
    5. Ensure the regular testing, troubleshooting, and modification of information systems to ensure they operate effectively and securely.
  6. System Backups and Disaster Recovery:
    1. Ensure that comprehensive backup systems are in place for all critical systems, including email, ERP, and network configurations.
    2. Evaluate technology risks, manage regular testing of backup and disaster recovery processes to ensure data resilience and recovery in case of emergencies.
  7. IT budget monitoring & Technology Advancements and Recommendations:
    1. Oversee the annual IT budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources for hardware, software, and services.
    2. Liaise with department heads and management to identify IT hardware and software needs that improve business operations and efficiency.
    3. Monitor expenditures, track budget variances, and propose adjustments as necessary to align with business priorities.
    4. Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends, application developments, and industry best practices.
    5. Make informed recommendations to management for technology improvements, process optimization, and cost-effective solutions.
  8. Compliance and Regulatory Assurance:
    1. Manage the organization’s use of IT master files, ERP and server user’s access rights, roles and views, data control, IT reporting to Management on overall IT operations and other tasks as assigned by Management.
    2. Ensure all IT activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
    3. Review and implement policies that align IT operations with legal, security, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  1. Candidate must possess at least a Certificate/Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree, in Computer Technology, IT Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  2. Minimum of five (5) years prior experience with providing IT related and workstation support, experience in ERP business central and smart project knowledge will be more advantageous.
  3. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  4. Knowledge of multiple desktop programs, configuration, and debugging techniques.
  5. The ability to prioritize with a sense of urgency and a commitment to the timely completion of projects. Attention to detail along with a commitment to quality and confidentiality.
  6. Understanding of applicable laws, codes, and regulations related to IT operations and ability to assess and mitigate technology risks to protect the organization’s data and infrastructure.
  7. Technology awareness & ability to evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements that align with the company’s goals.
  8. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex IT challenges.
  9. Experience in managing IT projects, from planning and execution to monitoring and completion.
  10. Computer literate & Proficiency in Microsoft office and good at oral and written communication skills for reporting requirements.
  11. Good interpersonal & communication skills to effectively interact with people at all levels and to work cross-functionally. Proven ability to manage and lead IT teams effectively.
  12. A team player who is disciplined, independent, self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  13. Required language(s): English, Bahasa Malaysia.
  14. Candidate must be willing to work in Prai.
