Job description

The IT Executive will provide technical assistance to employees and ensure the smooth operation of the company’s IT infrastructure. This role involves diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues, maintaining and upgrading IT systems, and ensuring robust cybersecurity measures. The ideal candidate will support the organization’s technology needs by optimizing system performance, managing IT assets, and assisting in IT project implementation and vendor relations.

Responsibilities:

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide timely and efficient technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems with computers, printers, servers, and other office technologies.
  • Manage helpdesk requests and ensure prompt resolution of technical issues to minimize downtime.

System Maintenance & Upgrades

  • Perform regular maintenance and updates of software and hardware systems.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of system upgrades, security patches, and software updates.
  • Monitor system and network performance, optimizing as needed for reliability and efficiency.

Network & Security Management

  • Support the setup, configuration, and maintenance of the company’s local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN).
  • Ensure the security of data, network access, and backup systems through monitoring and implementing security measures (e.g., firewalls, antivirus, encryption).
  • Monitor for cybersecurity threats and respond by implementing appropriate protective measures.

Software & Hardware Management

  • Install, configure, and manage hardware and software (desktops, laptops, operating systems, etc.).
  • Ensure all software licenses are current and compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets and ensure proper documentation for hardware and software systems.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide technical solutions.
  • Coordinate with vendors for the procurement of IT equipment and services, managing relationships and contracts.
  • Assist in planning, budgeting, and implementing IT-related projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Requirements:

  • At least a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in IT support or system administration, with expertise in hardware, software, and network maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and business software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving technical issues; experience with network administration (LAN/WAN) and cybersecurity tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to manage tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to address technical issues outside regular hours, as needed, and a strong organizational focus for asset management.
