We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic M&A Associate to join our regional team in Southeast Asia, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with 1-3 years of experience in M&A transactions who are looking to further develop their career in a fast-paced, cross-border environment. The successful candidate will work on a wide variety of M&A, corporate finance, and strategic advisory mandates in a regional context.
Transaction Support:
Assist in all stages of M&A transactions, including due diligence, financial modeling, market research, valuation analysis, and drafting transaction documents such as term sheets, sale and purchase agreements, and board resolutions.
Client Interaction:
Support senior team members in advising clients on M&A opportunities and strategies. Prepare presentations and assist in client communications, ensuring high-quality, responsive service.
Cross-border Deal Experience:
Assist with regional M&A projects in Southeast Asia, working with teams across multiple jurisdictions, including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and others.
Industry Research and Market Trends:
Conduct industry-specific research and provide analysis on market trends, competitive landscape, and potential acquisition targets. Prepare reports and presentations for internal and client use.
Transaction Structuring and Negotiations:
Participate in the development of transaction structures and strategies, working with legal, tax, and financial advisors. Provide support during negotiations and the preparation of relevant documents.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with senior associates, managers, and clients to ensure successful transaction execution. Participate in client meetings, calls, and presentations.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A professional qualification (CFA, ACA, or equivalent) is a plus.
Experience:
1-3 years of experience in M&A advisory, corporate finance, or investment banking. Exposure to cross-border transactions in Southeast Asia is a significant advantage.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and financial analysis. Familiarity with financial software, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint is essential.
Knowledge:
Solid understanding of M&A processes, corporate finance, and capital markets. Knowledge of regulatory and compliance issues in Southeast Asia is desirable.
