INSPECTOR OF WORK (IOW)

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Safety Compliance: Monitor and enforce safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on-site.

Documentation: Maintain detailed records of inspections, observations, and corrective actions taken during the construction process.

Coordination: Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to address issues, resolve conflicts, and ensure smooth progress of the project.

Progress Reporting: Provide regular reports on the status of construction activities, highlighting any deviations from the plan and proposing solutions to mitigate risks or delays.

Problem-Solving: Identify potential construction challenges or obstacles and proactively work towards finding effective solutions to minimize disruptions.

Material and Equipment Inspection: Inspect construction materials, equipment, and machinery to verify quality and suitability for use in the project.

Budget and Schedule Adherence: Monitor project expenditures and schedules to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints and timelines.

Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices, regulations, and technological advancements relevant to construction inspection and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.

Client Interaction: Liaise with the client representatives as necessary, providing updates on project progress, addressing concerns, and maintaining positive relationships.

Qualifications And Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in construction inspection or a similar role, preferably in industrial or commercial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Familiarity with construction management software and tools.
• Certification in relevant areas such as quality control, safety, or project management is advantageous.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, Malay, and Mandarin.
