About the job Human Resource Manager (Generalist)

Job summary:

The Human Resource Manager (Generalist) is responsible for managing and overseeing a broad range of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees and management, providing support and guidance on HR-related matters and ensuring that HR practices align with organizational goals and legal requirements.

Job responsibilities:

Recruitment & Onboarding:

  1. Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
  2. Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, interviewing, and hiring.
  3. Oversee new employee onboarding, ensuring a smooth and effective integration into the company.

Employee Relations:

  1. Act as a liaison between employees and management, addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts.
  2. Foster a positive work environment by promoting employee engagement and satisfaction.
  3. Conduct exit interviews and analyze feedback to improve workplace practices.

Performance Management:

  1. Implement and manage performance appraisal systems to ensure fair and consistent evaluations.
  2. Provide support and guidance to managers on performance issues, including coaching and corrective actions.
  3. Develop and oversee training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.

Compliance & Legal:

  1. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  2. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices and legal requirements.
  3. Manage employee records and documentation in accordance with legal and company policies.
  4. Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures to reflect organizational changes and legal requirements.
  5. Communicate HR policies to employees and ensure consistent application across the organization.

Reporting & Analytics:

  1. Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
  2. Track key HR metrics, such as turnover rates, employee satisfaction, and recruitment effectiveness.

Organizational Development:

  1. Support organizational development initiatives and change management efforts.
  2. Collaborate with senior management to align HR strategies with overall business objectives.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR, with a broad understanding of generalist HR functions. Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory role is a plus.

Skills:

  1. Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  3. Proven problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  4. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  5. Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  6. Attributes: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Compensation Package:

  1. Medical claim capped at RM500/annum
  2. Specialist claim capped at RM300/annum
  3. Dental claim capped at RM300/annum
  4. Group Hospitalisation and Surgical cover
  5. Company Trip and company dinner
  6. Annual Leave 18 days (add 1 day every anniversary and capped at 24 days)
  7. Average Performance bonus 1.8-2.5 months depends on company performance and individual MBO scores.
  8. Monday to Friday : 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
