Human Resource Manager

Responsibilities

• Responsible for full spectrum of Human Resource functions such as employee manpower planning and recruitment; remuneration and benefits management, training and development, grievances management and counselling, and disciplinary issues.
• Conduct, plan, and coordinate employee on-the-job training programs when there is a new branch set up and coordinate with the Operations Department on employee manpower arrangement, hiring, and transfer.
• Keep track of amendments to Human Resource legislation and propose implementations beneficial to both the Company and employees.
• Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, and maintaining records.
• Establish management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
• Conduct audits, surveys, prepare and present proposals on staff remuneration and benefit packages to ensure competitiveness in the local market.
• Ensure submission of HR reports as required and consult with government agencies on routine inspections from the Safety and Health Department and Sarawak Labour Department.
• Plan and conduct staff development programs and serve as the in-house trainer to deliver soft skills programs to front-liners and set Customer Service Standards for all employees.
• Ensure cashier courtesy at branches and manage customer complaints effectively.
• Consult with Chief Security and Department/Store Head in investigations on employee misappropriation of funds, petty cash, staff misconduct, and carry out appropriate disciplinary action.
• Organize and coordinate staff yearly welfare programs like annual dinners/gatherings and incentive trips.
• Represent the Company in Labour Court and Industrial Court on disputes and ensure issues are resolved accordingly.
• Represent the Company in Medical Board Meetings held by the SOCSO on employee claims.
• Ensure SOCSO medical claims are properly compiled and submitted; and training grants received from Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Bhd.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience in human resources in retail or related fields.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of Sarawak Labour regulations.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Open to Malaysians only; this position is at HQ in Kuching, Sarawak.
