If you seek a valuable yet challenging working experience and friendly working environment, we have a job role as Human Resources Manager. The position will be based in Bayan Lepas, Penang.

The position reports directly to the General Manager. The successful candidate will need to manage and oversee the Human Resources team to achieve the company objectives in the full spectrum of HR related areas including Employee Relations, Industrial Relations, HR Statutory Regulations, Talent Acquisition, Foreign Workers and Expatriate affairs, Learning and Development, Welfare and Medical Management, Cafetaria and Transport.

As a Human Resources Manager, you will:

  • Establish goals and directions of Company’s Human Resources in line with organizational goals and lead the HR activities in the Company.
  • Protect interest of employees and the Company in accordance with Company HR policies and government laws and regulations.
  • Provide advice and update to management on HR related issues, government laws and regulations and ensure Company compliance pertaining to employment and industrial relations matters.
  • Serve as an internal consultant to hiring managers, advising them on compensation and benefit options, legislative changes, current trends in human resources management, etc.
  • Formulate policies, procedures and ensure effective implementation on full HR functions identified.
  • Review and revise HR policies as and when required after management approval.
  • Oversee manpower planning and recruitment. Work with management to identify current and future personnel needs.
  • Establish and develop compensation and benefit scheme, in line with Corporate and site management direction.
  • Manage performance review and salary programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Advise and recommend and maintain the company's base and variable compensation programs at all levels. Provide guidance to managers on compensation plan design and administration.
  • Develop and maintain good networking with governmental and non-governmental organizations relating to HR activities. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and policies.
  • Analyze costs and provide plan options, policy features, enrollment and other requirements for manager and employees.
  • Provide inputs to management on policy interpretation and legal awareness in consultation with Corporate legal. Lead investigation activities (when applicable) and advise with regards to the appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Be responsible for managing RBA standards compliances, labour & ethics policies & program as well as its management system.
  • Implement appropriate HR Strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.
  • Liaise with corporate HR and regional site HR and other related activities. Work with corporate HR to ensure activities are aligning with corporate business objectives as well as corporate HR objectives.
  • Participate as an active member on site and corporate projects, teams and process improvement including new project or site start-up.
  • Lead HR department and guide HR staff to stay competent through organizational changes.
  • Oversee implementation of programs with site Management.
  • Ensure HR departmental objectives are met.

What skills and experiences are we looking for?

  • Degree in relevant field with minimum 10 years’ related experience in full spectrum of HR with managerial capabilities in the manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and / or work experience.
  • Background in recruitment and good networking skills are added advantages.
  • Able to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Possess strong communication skill and able to interact with all levels effectively.
