Job description

The Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) was established in January 1992 to promote the development and growth of the Malaysian timber industry. MTC was formed on the initiative of the timber industry and governed by a Board of Trustees, whose members are appointed by the Minister of Plantation Industries & Commodities.

Job responsibilities:

  • Employee relations: Planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations policies and procedures.
  • Compensation and benefits: Preparing and reviewing compensation and benefits packages.
  • Policies and procedures: Preparing, updating, and recommending HR policies and procedures.
  • Employee records: Maintaining employee records and updating them with new hire information.
  • Grievances: Addressing and resolving employee grievances in a timely manner.
  • Labor laws: Staying up-to-date and complying with changes in labor legislation.
  • Reporting: Preparing and presenting HR-related reports to management.
  • Work environment: Promoting a productive work environment and ensuring a culture of accountability and collaboration.

Job requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management/Business Administration or any other relevant qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of HR experience particularly in Policies and Procedures, HR Reporting and Industrial Relations/Employee Relations.
  • Knowledgeable in Labor Laws ie Employment Act 1955, statutory rulings, OSHA.
  • Highly effective cross-functional team management.
  • Demonstrated a meticulous approach with attention to details.
  • Proficiency in HRIS Software.
  • This position is offered on a 1-year contract basis and will be considered for a permanent position subject to performance assessment.
