Job description

The HSE Coordinator will lead the Health, Safety, and Environment Department in implementing and maintaining safety, health and environmental programs to ensure a safe, compliant, and environmental compliance workplace. The role involves assisting in the development, implementation, and monitoring of policies, procedures, and training programs to meet regulatory requirements and company standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Development, implementation, and enforcement of safety, health and environmental policies, procedures.
  • Conduct Workplace Inspection and HSE Committee meeting with HSE Committee.
  • Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
  • Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Development and delivery of safety training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Conducting risk assessments and job hazard analyses.
  • Responsible for managing waste disposal activities in accordance with legal requirements such as scheduled wastes disposal.
  • Prepare and maintain HSE regulatory reports and records.
  • Development and implement emergency response and crisis management activities.
  • Provide other administrative support as required to ensure the effective operations of the department. Advise management on legal requirements related to Safety & Health and Environment.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with HSE legislation. Ensure implementation and continuous improvement in overall HSE System.
  • Any other duties as directed by the Superior.

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum Diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in HSE is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of HSE working experience preferably in manufacturing industry.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good knowledge of related laws and regulatory requirements such as the OSH Act and Environmental Act.
  • Safety and Health Officer Certification is required. Possess green book will be an added advantage.
  • Good to have but if missing, we will train you;
    • CePSWaM - Certified Environmental Professional for scheduled waste management.
    • CePBFO - Certified Environmental Professional in Bag Filter.

Education:

Minimum Diploma or equivalent.
