As BestFoody expands its presence in Malaysia, we are seeking an experienced and strategic HR & Talent Acquisition Manager to lead our recruitment efforts, develop robust HR policies, and foster a high-performance workplace culture. This role requires deep expertise in talent acquisition, HR operations, employee engagement, and compliance with Malaysian labor laws.

Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Develop and execute strategic talent acquisition plans to attract, recruit, and retain top talent.
- Lead the end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection.
- Utilize headhunting techniques, industry networking, and digital recruitment strategies to engage with top-tier candidates.
- Implement a structured candidate assessment and selection framework to ensure high-quality hires.
- Conduct salary benchmarking and compensation structuring in alignment with industry standards.
HR Policy Development & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and oversee HR policies, employee handbooks, and operational guidelines.
- Ensure full compliance with Malaysian labor laws, employment regulations, and statutory requirements (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, LHDN tax regulations, IRB, and industrial relations law).
- Maintain and update employment contracts, policies, and procedures in line with evolving legal requirements.
- Serve as a key advisor on HR compliance, workplace ethics, and dispute resolution.
- Conduct regular HR audits to ensure best practices and risk mitigation.
Employee Engagement & Performance Management
- Design and implement employee engagement initiatives to enhance job satisfaction and retention.
- Develop and manage performance appraisal systems, including KPI setting, career progression frameworks, and feedback mechanisms.
- Establish training and development programs to support employee growth and skill enhancement.
- Foster a strong company culture by organizing team-building activities, recognition programs, and well-being initiatives.
- Lead change management efforts to support business expansion and workforce scalability.
HR Operations & Business Partnering
- Collaborate with senior management to align HR strategies with business objectives.
- Provide HR analytics and reporting on workforce trends, hiring effectiveness, and retention metrics.
- Manage payroll processes, employee benefits administration, and HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems).
- Oversee workplace policies related to health, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary matters.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven HR Leadership Experience – Minimum 5-8 years of experience in HR & talent acquisition, preferably in media, advertising, F&B, or fast-growing industries.
- Expertise in Malaysian Employment Laws – Strong knowledge of labor regulations, contracts, compliance policies, and dispute resolution.
- Strategic Talent Acquisition & Headhunting Skills – Ability to attract, assess, and secure top talent through diverse recruitment channels.
- HR Policy & Employee Relations Expertise – Experienced in developing and implementing HR policies, contracts, and compliance frameworks.
- Strong Business Acumen & Workforce Planning Ability – Able to align HR functions with company goals and growth strategies.
- Excellent Communication & Negotiation Skills – Strong interpersonal skills to engage with employees, leadership, and external partners.
- High Emotional Intelligence & Problem-Solving Ability – Capable of managing complex employee relations and organisational challenges.
