As BestFoody expands its presence in Malaysia, we are seeking an experienced and strategic HR & Talent Acquisition Manager to lead our recruitment efforts, develop robust HR policies, and foster a high-performance workplace culture. This role requires deep expertise in talent acquisition, HR operations, employee engagement, and compliance with Malaysian labor laws.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  1. Develop and execute strategic talent acquisition plans to attract, recruit, and retain top talent.
  2. Lead the end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection.
  3. Utilize headhunting techniques, industry networking, and digital recruitment strategies to engage with top-tier candidates.
  4. Implement a structured candidate assessment and selection framework to ensure high-quality hires.
  5. Conduct salary benchmarking and compensation structuring in alignment with industry standards.

HR Policy Development & Compliance

  1. Develop, implement, and oversee HR policies, employee handbooks, and operational guidelines.
  2. Ensure full compliance with Malaysian labor laws, employment regulations, and statutory requirements (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, LHDN tax regulations, IRB, and industrial relations law).
  3. Maintain and update employment contracts, policies, and procedures in line with evolving legal requirements.
  4. Serve as a key advisor on HR compliance, workplace ethics, and dispute resolution.
  5. Conduct regular HR audits to ensure best practices and risk mitigation.

Employee Engagement & Performance Management

  1. Design and implement employee engagement initiatives to enhance job satisfaction and retention.
  2. Develop and manage performance appraisal systems, including KPI setting, career progression frameworks, and feedback mechanisms.
  3. Establish training and development programs to support employee growth and skill enhancement.
  4. Foster a strong company culture by organizing team-building activities, recognition programs, and well-being initiatives.
  5. Lead change management efforts to support business expansion and workforce scalability.

HR Operations & Business Partnering

  1. Collaborate with senior management to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  2. Provide HR analytics and reporting on workforce trends, hiring effectiveness, and retention metrics.
  3. Manage payroll processes, employee benefits administration, and HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems).
  4. Oversee workplace policies related to health, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  5. Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary matters.

What We’re Looking For

  1. Proven HR Leadership Experience – Minimum 5-8 years of experience in HR & talent acquisition, preferably in media, advertising, F&B, or fast-growing industries.
  2. Expertise in Malaysian Employment Laws – Strong knowledge of labor regulations, contracts, compliance policies, and dispute resolution.
  3. Strategic Talent Acquisition & Headhunting Skills – Ability to attract, assess, and secure top talent through diverse recruitment channels.
  4. HR Policy & Employee Relations Expertise – Experienced in developing and implementing HR policies, contracts, and compliance frameworks.
  5. Strong Business Acumen & Workforce Planning Ability – Able to align HR functions with company goals and growth strategies.
  6. Excellent Communication & Negotiation Skills – Strong interpersonal skills to engage with employees, leadership, and external partners.
  7. High Emotional Intelligence & Problem-Solving Ability – Capable of managing complex employee relations and organisational challenges.
