We are looking for a Grocery/Supermarket HR Manager/Assistant Manager to oversee our store's HR and recruiting procedures, from attracting and hiring candidates to join our Company.
RECRUITMENT
Responsible for the end-to-end recruitment process including screening, shortlisting, interviewing, selection, job offering, and relevant employment documentation based on the budget and timeline.
Coordinate and create a pleasant candidate experience throughout the onboarding until offboarding stage.
Work closely with respective brand’s HOD or operations team to identify their manpower planning needs and provide support accordingly.
Maintain and input an active recruitment database.
Be analytical and ensure recruitment reports are submitted accurately and on a timely basis.
Build rapport and maintain good relationships with stakeholders; work closely with business leaders to provide appropriate advice and guidance.
Continuously review and ensure job descriptions are accurately updated for all existing and new positions according to operational requirements.
Participate in the sustainable organization structure review and design, performance management process, succession planning, skills assessment, and talent development strategies to achieve business goals.
Attend career fairs, career talks, and other innovative recruitment efforts in developing the talent brand.
Support the management/manager/superior in HR talent & recruitment strategy and plans.
Proactively identify gaps, propose, and implement innovative recruitment strategies and HR practices changes necessary to align with business goals.
Provide management coaching to build leadership capabilities to address and resolve employee issues; coach select employees as needed in complex situations.
Participate in HR strategy discussions and be responsible for managing the ad-hoc projects assigned.
Requirements:
Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management/ Business Studies/ Social Sciences or equivalent.
At least 5 years of work experience in a Retail background or related field would be an added advantage.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a pleasant personality.
Good command of English and Malay languages in both oral and written; additional knowledge of vernacular languages/dialects will be an advantage.
Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Suite including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
Good knowledge and understanding of the latest Malaysia labour law and prevailing HR practices and legislation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and able to perform under pressure.
ER & IR ENGAGEMENT
Promote and maintain industrial harmony between management and employees.
Counsel, make recommendations, and take constructive disciplinary actions under the human relations policy and procedures of the organization.
Manage employee relations issues (e.g., investigating employee and/or supervisor complaints regarding conduct, performance, or attendance, mediation between employees, monitoring diversity/equal employment opportunity program compliance, etc.).
Provide guidance, coaching, and counseling to HR and department leads to ensure the resolution of employment-related matters.
Manage assigned Employee Relations case management & investigations from intake through interview, transition, escalation, and redirection or closure in a timely manner. Maintain accurate and timely case files, documentation, and follow-up.
Provide guidance on the interpretation and administration of company policies, procedures, and programs. Monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of operations and services.
Promote a positive workplace environment through employee communication and engagement, including implementing measures to increase employee morale, motivation, and satisfaction while reducing turnover (e.g., employee engagement surveys, Townhall, The Tarik Session, People’s Leader Meeting).
Prepare and communicate memos related to employee awareness on certain issues.
Assist in developing policy/procedure and all HR-related projects or systems implementation such as reviewing non-professional handbooks, compensation & benefits surveys, Training & development, etc.
Act as a representative from HR for internal & external audits, able to answer questions pertaining to HR scope of work including policy, grievance process, validating if the current employee policy and handbook align with the Employment Act, etc.
Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, or equivalent.
At least 3 to 5 years of working experience in HR & Payroll is required for this position.
Good knowledge of Labour Laws and legislation such as Employment Act 1955, Industrial Relations Act 1967, EPF Act 1951 1991, SOCSO Act 1969, etc.
Hands-on experience with HR software & HR policies operation implementation.
Good proficiency in Microsoft Excel/ Applications/ Formula.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Resourceful, able to meet deadlines, ability to work independently & a good team player.
Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail, willingness to develop & learn new skills.
