Job description

The HR Generalist is responsible for managing key HR functions for the F&B and retail workforce, including recruitment, payroll processing, employee relations, training, compliance, and performance management. This role requires hands-on HR support for both front-line and back-end employees, ensuring smooth daily operations while maintaining compliance with labor laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee end-to-end hiring for restaurant, store, and corporate roles.
  2. Manage job postings, screenings, interviews, and offer processes.
  3. Conduct onboarding, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
  4. Process payroll using iPayroll (HR2000), ensuring accuracy in salaries, OT, incentives, and deductions.
  5. Ensure compliance with EPF, SOCSO, EIS, and statutory deductions.
  6. Handle staff claims, allowances, and off-cycle payments.
  7. Generate payroll reports and resolve discrepancies.
  8. Address employee grievances and conduct investigations.
  9. Ensure compliance with the Employment Act 1955 and industry regulations.
  10. Manage disciplinary actions, warnings, and terminations per company policies.
  11. Support store/restaurant managers in resolving HR issues and staff concerns.
  12. Monitor attendance, shift scheduling, and absenteeism.
  13. Manage leave records (annual, medical, unpaid) in HR2000.
  14. Ensure compliance with rest day policies and working hour limits.
  15. Organize onboarding, food safety, and customer service training.
  16. Support career development and internal promotions.
  17. Ensure compliance with HRDF/HRD Corp training programs.
  18. Assist managers with performance reviews and KPI tracking.
  19. Implement incentive programs for sales and operational teams.
  20. Conduct exit interviews and analyze turnover trends to improve retention.
  21. Maintain HR records and databases (iPayroll).
  22. Prepare HR reports on manpower, turnover, and payroll costs.
  23. Assist in HR audits and compliance reviews.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  2. 2-5 years of HR experience in F&B or retail industries.
  3. Experience with iPayroll (HR2000) and payroll processing.
  4. Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
  5. Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  6. Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.
