Objectives of the Position
- As a HR Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in driving HR initiatives and supporting the local management team in achieving their strategic objectives. You will collaborate with HR colleagues around the world to ensure consistent implementation of global HR policies and practices while addressing local needs.
- This multi-faceted role encompasses HR Advisory and Operations, including employee lifecycle, organization and position movement, onboarding, mobility, employee relations, offboarding etc.
- Contribute to the development of BASF Digital Service division’s short to mid-term people strategy/business plan.
Main Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with HR Shared Service team to ensure data quality and data integrity for HR operations including organization/ position movement, headcount management and employee lifecycle.
- Administer and follow-through business agreements in ensuring accurate mobility decisions. Close engagement with focal points in administrating transition arrangement.
- Build and maintain a relationship as trusted HR partner with key stakeholders such as people leaders and managers to consult, share insights and execute critical HR topics, with a focus on creating a high-performing and productive workforce, and enhancing a change mindset as aligned with the Business and Corporate Strategy.
- Coach managers on people matters including performance, terminations, disciplinary issues, career development, covering office and production site employees and execute BASF HR framework incl. annual salary review, performance management, talent forum, talent program nomination etc.
- Discuss with people leaders to identify training & development and succession needs. Partner with the Center of Expertise (CoE) on Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development and Compensation & Benefits as subject matter experts to design and execute your strategy for how the business staffs, on-boards, develops, motivates, retains and organizes work.
- Foster employee engagement/motivation by promoting recognition and regular employee communication within Malaysia.
- Work closely with global or regional HR teams to ensure successful deployment and embedment of various HR projects.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve HR excellence and customer satisfaction to achieve operational excellence.
Requirements
Education
- Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or relevant disciplines.
Working Experience
- Minimum 3 years of professional HR experience in a multinational company environment, specifically in HR generalist and/or business partnering areas.
- Solid experience and knowledge in local HR practices and statutory requirement.
- Solid experience in employee and/or industrial relations which include managing conflict, performance, and tough conversations with employees.
- Solid HR advisory experience across multiple groups.
- Proven record of driving and implementing small to mid-scale people initiatives.
- Ability to manage difficult situations with tact and diplomacy, and multi-task in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
