Housekeeping Supervisor

As Housekeeping Supervisor, you’ll coordinate the housekeeping operation and staff to ensure product quality standards are met and that optimum service is provided to hotel guests according to hotel and company business objectives.

Responsibilities

1. Plan and lead team meetings to provide coaching around new procedures, policies, and areas of need, as well as pre-shift meetings to review information pertinent to the day’s activities.
2. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments, including Front Office, Guest Relations, Maintenance, and Food and Beverage.
3. Provide ongoing training, coaching, and counselling to all housekeeping employees.
4. Monitor and control supplies and amenities, and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping.
5. Ad-hoc duties – unexpected moments when we have to pull together to get a task done.
6. Plan, schedule, organize, and oversee work to ensure proper coverage, timely completion, and satisfactory performance.
7. Serve as “manager on duty” as required.
8. Respond to guest complaints, special requests and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction.
9. Manage the day-to-day operation of the housekeeping department, including regularly directing and overseeing the work of two or more full-time housekeeping employees.
10. Clean and service assigned rooms or areas according to established standards and procedures including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash, etc. May include cleaning of kitchen area, room refrigerator, coffee maker, cups, glasses, silverware, etc.
11. May regularly assist with deep cleaning projects.
12. Ensure hotel alarm system is in good working order.
13. May assist with other duties as assigned.
14. May be responsible for the security of lost and found items or coordinate the lost and found function with other departments.
15. Monitor guest complaints and special requests, and ensure action is taken to achieve satisfaction.
16. Schedule routine inspections of guest rooms and public areas, coach employees on deficiencies, and provide corrective action where appropriate.

What we need from you

1. Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
2. Some housekeeping experience and ability to speak English preferred.
3. Must speak local language(s).
