Summary:

Spearheads & develops department objectives & goals attaining company objectives.

Provides leadership & guidance to maintenance team in attaining department objectives & goals.

Ensures hotel facilities (i.e., water pumps, fire fighting system, electrical supply, air-conditioning, internet connection) are interruption-free.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  1. Develops, executes and maintains a comprehensive preventive maintenance plan for hotel operations, including:
    1. Air-conditioning
    2. Domestic water supply
    3. Fire-fighting system
    4. Passenger & service lift
    5. Swimming pool
    6. Lifts & doors access control system
    7. Internet & CCTV
  2. Develops, maintains and updates standard operating procedures relevant to current business needs/environment.
  3. Guides staff in adherence to the latest SOP.
  4. Develops improvement plans to minimize hotel guest complaints related to facilities.
  5. Works & advises staff methods in removing roadblocks.
  6. Develops & maintains sufficient commonly used spare parts inventory.
  7. Leads, trains, and manages staff including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and conducting regular performance evaluations.
  8. Fosters a positive and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork and professional development.
  9. Develops and manages the department's budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  10. Coordinates with external contractors and service providers for specialized repairs or projects to ensure timely repairs that meet quality expectations.
  11. Collaborates with other departments to support hotel operations and address maintenance-related issues.
  12. Provides monthly reports to the hotel general manager on maintenance status, issues, and improvement plans.

Qualification:

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in using maintenance management software and other relevant tools.
  • Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
