The Position
As our Healthcare is changing with radical innovation, increased openness to change, increasing patient empowerment, multiple sources of medical information, and pressure on public spending, the needs of our stakeholders continue to evolve. The Healthcare System Partner (HSP) demonstrates personal purpose around improving the healthcare ecosystem, both locally and for Roche more broadly. They think from an Enterprise level, beyond boundaries and borders, in order to bring the best possible outcomes to both the local health environment, and more broadly, across Roche globally.
The opportunity:
The HSP is an empowered leader within the affiliate, with decision-making authority to request resources of Roche in order to shape their nominated healthcare system. The role is empowered to pull in expertise and resources locally and from the network as needed, including in collaboration with other Healthcare System Partners, Patient Journey Partners and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Other key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Partner with healthcare system stakeholders to drive healthcare system innovation and unlock possibilities to deliver value for patients, society, and Roche
- Contribute to identifying, mapping, engaging and managing ecosystem stakeholders
- Act as a trusted partner and the primary (but non-exclusive) point of contact between healthcare ecosystem stakeholders, such as government officials, industry associations and patient organizations, and Roche.
- Share the stakeholder community vision and value internally, prioritize and secure resources, and drive solutions that deliver outcomes faster
- Live the Visionary, Architect, Coach, Catalyst (VACC) model, act as catalyst and coach externally and internally. Be able to pull in expertise and resources locally and from the network as needed, including in collaboration with other Healthcare System Partners and Patient Journey Partners
- Look across the ecosystem and catalyze our ability to see broader trends and patterns in healthcare systems. Bring outside insights into Roche to influence strategy AND to bring our expertise, science and knowledge out to the ecosystem
- Align and build bridges between the internal Roche networks and the local external ecosystem, creating knowledge exchange opportunities
- Drive health system innovation by working through policy development, infrastructure and capacity/capabilities building of the healthcare system, increasing access, and improving models of care to help the Triple Win (Roche, Patients, and Society)
Who you are:
With deep understanding of healthcare system, processes and governance, you are good at customer engagement and stakeholder management. You can connect the dots and leverage digital means and tools for the benefit of all stakeholders.
You have
- University degree (in public health, biological science, health economics, or business) with practical understanding of digital innovation methodologies. Education in health policy, advanced degree and/or MBA is a plus. Fluency in English is necessary
- Experience in policy-making, access initiatives, and working with government
- Demonstrated experience in market access, health policy or related experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology healthcare industry with up to date knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines.
- Broad understanding of Roche’s present portfolio and future pipeline, facilitating work on future-based health solutions to improve patient outcomes.
- Robust strategic understanding and tactical implementation of health solutions relevant to the ecosystem, including clinical research
As a systems thinker you can distinguish tactical from strategy, demonstrate strong business acumen, navigate ambiguity and manage complexity.
