Health, Safety & Environment Officer / Executive
- Perform or assist HSE planning, budget, inspection, meeting, activities, training and programs.
- Ensure that all Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
- Enforce HSE policies, guidelines and procedures that help prevent any accident or incident.
- Keep records and follow-up work progress with relevant departments on inspection findings, reports and workplace safety and health measures that suggest improvements and corrective action plans.
- Assist in preparation of reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to management when necessary and prepare relevant reports and checklists as required by the Local Authority bodies such as DOSH, DOE, etc.
- Ensure implementation and continuous improvement in overall HSE System.
- Promote HSE to all members of the organization, including management, supervisors and workers for their commitment and involvement in the HSE management system.
- Carry out workplace safety, 5S housekeeping, health & hygiene program and sustainable program.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards.
- Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations.
- Document, investigate and recommend improvements for all accidents.
- Liaise with external health, safety and environment consultants in the provision of training programs and health, safety and environmental services.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with HSE legislation.
- Develop and maintain EMS documentation, including environmental manuals, procedures, records and hazard management systems (HIRAC).
- Ensure that all OSH documentation is properly maintained.
- Provide regular reports to the Manager, Board of Directors/Senior Management Team on relevant health, safety and environmental activities.
- Participate in monthly meetings when required to report on relevant health & safety matters.
- Provide training to employees at all levels to ensure they understand their roles and responsibilities within the EMS.
- Ensure safe handling and proper management of scheduled waste.
- Enforce safety rules and summon those who violate safety and environment rules.
- Conduct safety briefings for new employees.
- Conduct regular toolbox briefings to the production team.
- Ensure proper safety/warning signage is in place.
- Any other duties as directed by the Superior.
What we're looking for
Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor Degree in any discipline and with Safety & Health Officer (SHO) green book registered with DOSH/JKKP or equivalent.
Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English
Strong knowledge of ESH regulations and standards. Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
At least 2-5 years of working experience in health and safety aspects, preferably in a related field.
Well-versed with government department documentation/needs related to Safety, Health & Environment.
Able to work independently, highly motivated and able to communicate well with all levels.
Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
