Develop and oversee safety protocols and requirements for the plant.
Establish, implement, and maintain Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, ensuring they are regularly updated, reviewed, and communicated effectively.
Ensure compliance with local regulations such as DOSH, DOE, Ministry of Health, BOMBA, NIOSH, EQA, and UBBL by analyzing the workplace, assessing risks, and recommending preventive measures to enhance workplace safety.
Conduct Health & Safety induction training programs for all employees as required.
Monitor and ensure that employees comply with established safety management systems.
Organize, coordinate, and oversee the company’s Health & Safety committee meetings.
Investigate workplace accidents or near-miss incidents and provide detailed reports to the head office.
Recommend corrective actions and preventive measures to mitigate future incidents.
Coordinate and deliver safety training on proper procedures across all work sites while promoting safety awareness.
Advise management on any updates or changes in Health & Safety regulations.
Promote injury prevention and damage control strategies.
Stay informed about industry codes of practice and share relevant Health & Safety updates with employees at all levels.
Prepare and submit required documents such as safe work method statements, height mitigation plans, logistic plans, and risk assessment plans.
Requirements:
Diploma/Degree in Environmental and Occupational Health or a Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety recognized by DOSH Malaysia.
Registered Safety Officer with a valid Green Book license from DOSH is an added advantage.
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
Familiarity with ISO standards and experience in implementing and maintaining a quality management system.
Proficient in computer applications with strong communication skills, a proactive safety mindset, and a positive attitude.
