Health And Safety Officer (Fresh Graduate)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Health & Safety Officer to join our team. They will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong commitment to safety and health and who thrive in a dynamic work environment.

This position will be based in Kemaman, Terengganu.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop, implement, and oversee safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
2. Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
3. Organize and conduct safety training programs for employees to promote awareness of safety procedures and emergency protocols.
4. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and provide comprehensive reports including recommendations for preventive actions.
5. Monitor and ensure compliance with safety and health regulations and standards, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and best practices.
6. Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, incident reports, and other relevant documentation.
7. Develop and implement emergency response plans and coordinate emergency drills and exercises.
8. Promote a positive safety culture within the organization by encouraging employee participation in safety initiatives and fostering open communication regarding safety concerns.

Qualifications:

1. Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Previous experience in a safety role is advantageous, but not required for entry-level positions.
3. Strong understanding of safety regulations and standards.
4. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
