Head of Sustainability & ESG

A large reputable media company is looking for a Head of Sustainability & ESG to develop and implement the ESG policies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop, implement, and evaluate programmes that support the social, environmental, and economic sustainability objectives of the company.
2. Implement and manage Sustainability policies and procedures across the region in accordance with the company's high ethical standards, including in relation to environmental footprint, sustainable consumption, ethical sourcing, responsible workplace, and community engagement.
3. Assist the sustainability secretariat on meeting arrangements, reporting and data compilation for annual report, documentation for awards' submission, regulator's requirements, and other related matters.
4. Generate a high level of engagement amongst all key internal stakeholders and manage the regional sustainability committee structure in a way that is efficient and effective in driving progress in our sustainability agenda.
5. Deliver and manage the ethical trade audit program, including engaging third-party auditors as required, interpreting, and reporting on audit results, and tracking continuous improvement against agreed targets.
6. Coordinate with all the relevant departments and ensure that all deliverables meet the set expectations and deadlines.
7. Prepare sustainability-related presentations/reports and organize suitable training sessions on sustainability for the senior management team.
8. Implement the company's employee environmental volunteer programme.
9. Collate all relevant information and prepare a Sustainability Report for the company.

Key Requirements:

1. Tertiary qualification in Environmental Studies/Sustainable Development/Environmental Science or related field of study.
2. Minimum twelve years of experience working in the sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) departments of large organisations.
3. Prior knowledge of the media industry practices, regulatory requirements, and industry standards is highly preferred.
4. Familiarity with BURSA requirements, GRI standards, FTSE4GOOD, and UN Sustainability goals are crucial.
5. Experience with ISO14001 environment management standard would be an added advantage.
6. Good understanding of LEED, EPA, WELL, USGBC, TRUE, and TSCA standards.
7. A PMP certification would be an added advantage.
8. Strong understanding of principles of ESG integration, ESG risk management, sustainable insurance solutions, sustainability reporting, and data collection.
9. In-depth knowledge of ESG principles, frameworks, and reporting standards (e.g., Bursa Malaysia's Sustainability Reporting Guide, GRI, SASB, TCFD).
10. Ability to contribute to the effective delivery of project deliverables outputs and support the project team members where necessary.
11. Ability to analyse sustainability data and information, create interesting and engaging findings, and present the information in a concise manner.
12. Passionate about the environment and bringing about a positive change to an organisation.
