Head of Property - Underwriting

• Risk Assessment: Evaluating and determining the risks associated with insuring various types of properties, including residential, commercial, and industrial.
• Policy Development: Setting underwriting guidelines, coverage terms, and premium rates to ensure profitability and compliance with industry standards.
• Team Leadership: Managing and mentoring a team of underwriters, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
• Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing strategies to enhance underwriting processes, improve risk management, and drive business growth.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Working closely with brokers, agents, and other stakeholders to negotiate terms, resolve issues, and maintain strong business relationships.
• Market Analysis: Staying updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions in Malaysia to make informed decisions and adapt strategies accordingly.

Requirements:

• Strong analytical skills and excellent decision-making abilities.
• Deep understanding of the insurance industry and property markets in Malaysia.
• 10 years or more of experience in property underwriting and risk assessment.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards in Malaysia.
