Universal Robina Corporation is looking for a Head of Manufacturing (Malaysia)

What are their Job Responsibilities:

1. Manages the overall industrial activities including the directing, advising and managing of direct and indirect subordinates to ensure strong team performance.
2. Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operations of the facility.
3. Coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
4. Work closely with quality personnel to review product consistency while monitoring scrap rates to determine trends and areas of improvement.
5. Manage long-term strategic plans and tactical implementation of production systems.
6. Determine optimum manufacturing processes and raw material usage.
7. Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed.
8. Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment.
9. Ensure the product meets the food legislation and legal requirements as per standard.
10. Remove production constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals.
11. Be responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment.
12. Provide strong support for new product strategies.
13. Establish performance expectations, monitor against expectations, and provide necessary feedback to team members to enhance their growth in position and promotional opportunities.
14. Coordinate plant profit forecasting and operating statements involving production estimates, raw material cost, labor cost, supplies, machinery maintenance and repair, etc. to keep the plant operating at a profitable margin and minimize losses.
15. Ensure maintenance of equipment is safe and maintains a clean work environment.
16. Other responsibilities and accountabilities as assigned by the ISC Director.

What are the Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Business Management / Engineering or related field with 5 – 10 years’ experience.
2. Related working managerial and supervisory skills at a manufacturing facility, preferably within the food industry.
3. Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance, and engineering.
4. Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
5. Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, and inventory processes.
6. Demonstrated strong leadership, team building, and advanced coaching skills.
