JOB DESCRIPTION
- Lead and mentor a group of engineers in the preparation, checking, and submission of drawings, catalogues, and calculations, identifying issues that affect project delivery.
- Supervise the team for the design, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of electrical/electronic systems.
- Oversee project conception, design, specifications, and manage scheduling, estimating, and securing materials.
- Manage technical matters in projects and provide technical recommendations within the targeted project budget.
- Conduct engineering studies and investigations and provide engineering guidance.
- Represent the company at technical meetings with clients and stakeholders and serve as the company's technical representative to clients and suppliers (e.g., FAT/SAT).
- Responsible for the design of electrical systems and/or communications systems, ensuring compliance with applicable standards & codes.
- Provide design support for various electrical services, including design calculations and conceptual design drawings.
- Develop method statements and risk analysis studies.
- Coordinate with clients and consultants on technical requirements and attend technical discussions and meetings with authorities, developers, and contractors.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and teams for project implementation, ensuring timely delivery of works.
- Monitor and carry out quality checks on progressively completed work.
- Inspect installations and observe operations to ensure compliance with design and equipment specifications and safety standards.
- Prepare calculation reports/technical notes and review those prepared by other team members.
- Deliver design solutions to meet customer requirements and verify that specifications for product systems, subsystems, interfaces, and components meet customer requirements while maintaining traceability throughout the development process.
- Ensure proposal compliance with the company’s quality procedures, customer requirements, and relevant/latest standards & regulations.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and above.
EXPERIENCE & SKILL FACTORS
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of design experience in LV Switchgears, Schematics & Layout design (including library design), Cable Assembly Design, and Design documentation.
- Proficient with MS Office Program, AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of designing in 3D layout/BIM/OBD will be an advantage.
- Proficiency in English (written and oral skills) is a MUST.
- A responsible, self-motivated, meticulous, and resourceful team player with good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
- Experience in construction Project Management.
- Familiarity with Code of Practices, electrical design, and electrical calculations.
- Effective communication between engineering, technical, construction, and project control groups.
