Job Description Summary
Support both country CFO and Asia Cluster (AC) CFO, responsible for all respective FRA activities while working collaboratively between function leaders as primary point of contact for all FRA matters. Apply IFRS principles in preparation and analysis of financial statements; ensure effectiveness of controls and high-quality reporting; execute month end closing processes; advise on technical accounting matters and liaise with internal and external auditors. Responsible for various financial services, projects, and may need to design, modify, install, and/or maintain accounting systems to ensure an adequate recognition of financial transactions.
Major accountabilities:
- Manages a diverse team (on/ off-shore) to deliver a high-performing organization and drive improvements/standard solutions, while driving a high degree of collaboration.
- Measures and manages the workforce to cultivate a customer service focus culture.
- Builds and strengthens the capabilities of the team by identifying, deploying, developing and overseeing talent within the function.
- Primary point of contact for FRA matters including delivery of service levels and key performance indicators (KPI’s) as defined by FRA process.
- Manage the local GAAP/statutory accounting including Statutory Audit.
- Preparation/Review of data for filing GST/Sales Tax & WHT returns and ensuing payment on a timely basis.
- Lead month end close activities including the analysis, review, and validation of financial statements, to include conducting cross-function analysis meetings with key stakeholders to review financial performance and balance sheet details.
- Drive conclusions on complex accounting issues, implementation of reporting projects and/or policies, and continuous process improvement throughout the accounting and reporting cycle.
- Coordinate with FRA teams in AC to track and monitor progress of transformation.
- Partner with the cluster business leaders to provide financial insights for decision-making.
Key performance indicators:
- Reliability, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting data (e.g. number of re-opens/identified errors). Timely delivery of all reporting requirements.
- Cost effective operating model with high level of customer satisfaction from all key customers (e.g. based on annual customer satisfaction survey) in accordance with agreed SLAs.
- Development of Finance talent, ensuring retention and succession planning in place (e.g. number of promotions from within Department / number of unplanned departures / talent exchange with other areas of Finance), employee satisfaction.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 8+ years’ experience in public accounting, healthcare industry or large corporation with shared service concept.
- Generic / Sandoz specific experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to apply IFRS accounting practices.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Enterprise systems knowledge (SAP). Significant experience in financial accounting and reporting, auditing, and financial process engineering, with record of strong control focus and driving/delivering change initiatives.
- Thought leader on complex accounting topics (Revenue, inventory, divestitures, and acquisitions) and in-depth knowledge finance processes and infrastructure to provide value-add.
